Meet Dr. Fernandez
Born in Long Island, New York, Dr. Deryck Fernandez moved to South Florida at the age of 14. He attended high school at Cardinal Gibbions in Fort Lauderdale, college at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, and graduated from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores in 2011. Dr. Fernandez completed his three year surgical residency training at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio where he treated a large volume of clinical and surgical patients.
As a surgical resident, he trained at the Veterans Affairs hospital, Wright Patterson Air Force Base where he treated active service personnel and their families, as well as various local private hospitals. Dr. Fernandez is trained in forefoot and rearfoot surgery, including limb salvage procedures, utilizing the latest external fixation devices.
Dr. Fernandez was named Chief Resident during his third year of residency and educated new residents. Through his training and experience, Dr. Fernandez learned both conservative and surgical management of all aspects of foot and ankle pathology. His skills in foot and ankle surgery include: the surgical correction of hammertoes and bunions, foot and ankle fractures, ankle arthroscopy, Achilles tendon ruptures, ankle instability, total ankle replacement and limb salvage with external fixation.

Dr. Fernandez is available for clinic at his office in Coral Springs, Florida. He is also on staff at Broward Health North, Broward Health Coral Springs, and Northwest Medical Center. Additionally, he has surgical privileges at Park Creek Surgery Center in Coconut Creek, Florida.
